Medeia was founded in 2002 by the cream of the Tampere metal scene. The band had a clear mission from the very beginning: to concentrate solely on creating a brutal sound uncompromising in nature and rich in content. Their self-financed, self-produced and now sold-out debut album "Quantum Holocaust: World Domination" was released in the summer of 2006 and has since received solely positive reviews.

In early 2007 lead vocalist Teemu Karjalainen left the band and was later replaced by Keijo Niinimaa from Rotten Sound. He began performing the vocal duties from thereon out, adding his experience and talent to the bunch.

In the summer of 2007, Medeia recorded two new songs at their rehearsal space and began searching for a recording label and possibilities to perform. Medeia played several live shows after releasing the promo, supporting such acts as As I Lay Dying (US) and Entombed (SWE). They also showcased their aural battery at the Finnish "Lost In Music" festival and were signed soon after to Finnish Fullsteam Records.

Medeia is currently fully focused on writing, arranging and recording their upcoming releases: a CD-EP and an anticipated full-length album.
