From Liverpool to Manchester, Paris to Reykjavik, Art House to Pop World, and Sarm West studios to the heart of the Pleasuredome.
Union Square Music is delighted to present a brand new deluxe box set on its award-winning Salvo imprint which celebrates the 25th anniversary (1983-2008) of one of the UK's most influential record labels, ZTT Records aka Zang Tuum Tumb.
Across three CDs and one DVD, Salvo presents - for the first time ever - all the hits in one place, plus rare and unearthed gems from the archives. More than 50 artists and 30 Top 40 hits, and scores of productions from ZTT founder Trevor Horn.
Very few labels have three number one singles in their first year of business. But then very few labels sign acts like Frankie Goes To Hollywood. The phenomenally successful Liverpool band kick proceedings off on disc one with all three of those chart-toppers and are followed by a distinguished roll call of hit-making ZTT artists including Propaganda, Art of Noise, Seal, 808 State, Bjork, Shane MacGowan, Kirsty MacColl, Shades of Rhythm, Adamski, Lisa Stansfield, The Frames and - bringing things up to the present day - David Jordan (who provided the latest ZTT Top 5 success with the uplifting ‘Sun Goes Down’) - plus remixes from the likes of Brian Eno, The Orb and William Orbit.
A special DVD presents more than one hour of innovative ZTT music videos directed by the likes of Zbigniew Rybczyński, Johnny Depp and Godley & Creme.
The box was compiled by ZTT's in-house curator/archivist, music journalist Ian Peel, who also contributes a detailed book containing rare photos, sleeves and legendary ZTT marketing material with special contributions from label founders Paul Morley, Trevor Horn and the artists involved.
